I want help ensure people with disabilities have access to the services they need!
I am Stavros. I am here to help!
We are here to help during these difficult times.
Across the Independent Living advocacy community, there is uncertainty. The COVID-19 crisis has left many centers rushing to adjust to how they support their consumers and advocate for the rights of disabled people. The cost in time and talent is stretching organizational resources leaving many people to asking “What comes next?”
Stavros Center for Independent Living is no different.
This week we have had to transition many of our staff and services to remote operations. Like many others we have been rushing to create infrastructure and procedures while continuing to provide the high-quality services our consumers expect while balancing the health and safety needs of our employees, and community. The staff of Stavros Center for Independent Livingsupports thousands of people with disabilities who, along with their care networks, are among the most vulnerable to suffer severe cases of the virus. Buying new technology and creating new processes is an expensive endeavor under the best of circumstances and this crisis is far from an ideal time to make these changes.
This work has been taxing, but we are dedicated to our community.
For over 40 years Stavros Center for Independent Living has been here to help. This crisis is affecting every part of our mission to help people with disabilities and Deaf people develop the tools and skills, they need to take charge of their own lives. We are working with partner organizations and coordinating with other nonprofits to support our community during this crisis in new ways.
With this crisis in full swing we need your help.
The costs of this crisis are far-reaching, and as of now, unknown. Our need for unrestricted funding is greater now than ever before. Unrestricted funds allow Stavros Center for Independent Living to respond to new challenges quickly and effectively.
We are asking all of our community to help us continue our vital work.
By making a simple five dollar donation to Stavros Center for Independent Living today you can help us reach our goal of $5,000 for the month of April. Your tax-deductible donation will provide us with much needed unrestricted funds, and ensure that we can respond to any demand this crisis makes on our organization. You will also support our advocacy efforts to ensure the needs of our community are known to Governor Baker and the legislature.
